PF Lyceum Course #202: Beyond the Body–Out of Body and Near Death Experiences is an introduction to the phenomena of out-of-body (OBE) and near-death (NDE) experiences, including definitions of the OBE and its differences from other phenomena. The instructors focus on discussions of specific OBE and NDE cases collected through their own research in Scotland, Spain and the United States. The course also focuses on what is known about the features of the OBE and NDE, the various contexts in which the experiences take place, how common these experiences are, what is known about the psychology people who have them. In addition, the instructors will discuss the various explanations offered to account for OBEs and their implications for consciousness and for the issue of the survival of bodily death. The course ends with an open discussion. (Lyceum Series) Also available in video PAL format.
